Revelation

forlorn and gloomy
i stare at the moon,

where I see you curled

akin to an apostrophe.

suddenly

there is a swift revelation

that it is the moon

which is
lonesome,
like a parenthesis
without its mate.

I read ... somewhere in your trail of comments on the blogs of others we both read ... that you're having a bit of difficulty finding your muse and goodly bits of poetry coming from your pen.

But here I come and read no evidence of said difficulty. None. Absolutely none.

"... that it is the moon
which is lonesome ..."

Fine work there luv

Thine poems require more fatuousness, more frivolity, else - I add parenthetically - how am I to follow them?

beautiful image in the poem, and the pic goes nicely with the poem

btw, last night I watched Water--I'll have a review up in a few days

Gautami. my friend read this to me over the phone yesterday while I was working and when she mentioned your name as the author, I felt an exclamation mark. Of course, Gautami is a wonderful poet and I hastened to add a mathematician too! This is terrific.

getzapped: Thanks. What do you think?

kindness(disarms the difficult): Thanks.

lady wordsmith: I was having a problem writing poetey. I still have it. I kind of forced myself yesterday to just sit and write. At times one has to do it.

Thanks. My relationship with the moon is "love and hate" kind.

kj: Thanks. Sometimes words just flow, at others I have to make them flow.

percival: I will remember that for the next quaint verse I write, in parenthesis!!

sage: Thanks.
I look forward to your review of EARTH.

andrew: I hadn't read it out loud. Thanks for telling me.

firebird: It does look like alone, doesn't it?

floots: Only you could point the apostrophe image. I am glad you did.

Being a Cancerian moon maiden, I really loved this poem, but even if I wasn't, I would still love it for your clever use of words, Gautami.
