stringing lines----Monday Poetry

looking at the keyboard-
frantically, I try to catch
hold of the escaping words.

they have been playing
truant too long, for comfort.

purposeless, words hit out
at each other, battling for
supremacy, self-centred to hilt.

gentleness underlying steely
firmness, I organise them.

in an instant, all gets precise-
chaotic lines coordinate in order,
making sense yet once more.

The monkey on the back of every writer for all time. Really enjoyed this!

My words went truant not all that long ago. Fortunately I've beaten them into submission again.

Yes, each one does think they are the best. LOL!

This is a good one.

I have found that pressing:

Ctrl - Alt - Del does the same for me.

Great poem girlfriend.

refreshing to read you again...

words are magic...but do you tink once we type words rather than write it the words loose its magic?

Yep, my words go truant all the time. I think Trevor's teaching them tricks. Or maybe it's just the state of motherhood. Possibly both.

At any rate, you've hit on one of those universals, Gautami. Nicely done.

Gautami,

Great poem. Definitely something most of us have had happen at one point in time or another. :)

oh yeah! i can relate to this poem! I'm usually at the mercy of the words. Loved this:
"they have been playing
truant too long, for comfort."

It's fun to picture the words fighting together!!

Hey, gautami. Here from Michele's officially.

I thought of you last night when I realized I'd been too busy with other stuff to write a single word.

is a nice haiku I found in the first three lines of this poem. A bonus! (The singular "word" was a typo on my part, but I'll let it stand.)

One of mine this reminds me of:

writing haiku
the word unlooked for
finds me

I always kinda saw the keyboard as one of those whack-a-mole games...

Gautami, you're such a control freak! :) Nicely done.

This was a really visual poem to read, at least for me. I could just see the words organizing themselves at the end!

Oh, I love this.
I never share the poetry I write - I always think it's awful.

Beautiful poem! I mostly feel that way when writing something new.

Stringig lines Until inevitability… Seen in the perspective of our imminent death, life becomes orderly in an instant. All makes perfect sense.

Gautami, I finally hear a resonance of a beat of mathematics in this one.
Not sure why...
Michele sent me,

Hi Gautami. I'm back from Michele's.

It's the wish of all writers that the words align themselves without undue difficulty. That doesn't always happen, of course. Like today: I wish that my head could keep them all under control.

It seems to get worse when I'm under heavy deadlines!

I've got a new blog, BTW. Details on Written Inc.
