untitled------Monday Poetry Train

deciphering words
amidst tattered pages-
resulting from folding
refolding,
of yellowing letters,
wrapped carefully
with love.

a single tear flows.

This is for my mom. She was going through my dad's papers. She found a wrapped bundle of old letters. Those letters were written by her to him. She never knew, he had kept every single one of those. I did not intrude on her privacy. Someday, I hope she allows me to read those letters.

I could not find any appropriate title for this.

What a beautiful, delicate poem. I love the folding and unfolding, and that the pages are yellowing, meaning that nothing is ever final.

I'm sure your mother will share those letters when she's ready.

Oh my God, that is so wonderful! I always love it when I stumble across the old love letters my husband and i have written each other. What a wonderful thing for your mother to have discovered. The poem is beautiful.

I thought you might like to know you are being featured on my blog today for Word Picture Sunday.

Wow. That's lovely. Both your poem and the fact that your dad kept all your mother's letters. Today's romantics, who send text messages and emails, will not be so lucky.

This is adorable!!Romantism does really exist, I guess!!
I could see a person reading those same letters throught the age.

Not only did he keep the letters - he folded and unfolded them to read and reread them. So beautiful.

Very beautiful Gauthami, somehow we never see our parents as anybody else apart from being a father or mother, they have so much more to their life.

Awww, what a beautiful story. I don't think any title would have done it justice.

How incredibly sweet. Sigh.

Your words are so poignant for such aged letters. And, your father is a beautiful, sentimental man who loves your mother.

John and I have kept each others letters/ e-mails through the years. What fun it will be to read all of them in older age.

I hope someday your mom shares her words with you. Maybe it can be a keepsake that's handed down through the years.

Have a nice day.
