melody washes over mesmerically----One Single Impression

she lay her palms flat on the table
staring at the keyboard,
occasionally stealing a glance
towards her computer screen.
she closed her palms, fisting those-
turned on the volume of her speaker
letting the music take over her senses.
strings of the kora washed away
her anxiety with mesmeric melody.
now completely relaxed; again
she lay her palms flat on the table.

Nice - but how could she turn on the volume with her hands clenched?

Restful and relaxing. So true, too. Music does wash away ones cares.

Wow - thanks for posting that piece of music. I LOVE it. Of course, me being me, I could immediately see ballet dancers doing a modern piece in my mind. That's just me...

These lines are my favorites:

'letting the music take over her senses.
strings of the kora washed away
her anxiety with mesmeric melody.'

The music was a nice addition and enhanced the experience of reading and pondering the poem

The last sentence makes the text mesmerizing, like a song repeating.

Gautami: Beautiful indeed. Sorry i have been so scarce. I am writing the prospectus for my thesis, which is demanding and giving more attention to the art of "seeing" through photography.
