distractingly disjointed

flowers that
we both picked;
sent to me
warped and stained,

stay unwrapped,
precisely like letters-
as from me to you
time has made you

a stranger. maybe I
pretend that so as to
prevent myself from
a predicament, which

is embarrassingly
embracing me even
when I am trying hard
to escape it by ignoring

They say time heals all wounds, but it also pulls us apart, changes us, and shapes us. Interesting take on the prompt, G.

Embracing while trying to escape by ignoring.

That is so beautiful, so very true.

And I loved your image of the letter beside the poem.

Very powerful. And very moving.

Time can do that - strangers to friends and back again. Nice work!

I really love the haiku-like feel of the first two stanzas, how you "transformed" flowers into letters. Thank you for sharing this piece!

Also, I want to thank you for visiting my poetry journal. :)
