Reading Room Deleted

Since last night I am in a state of shock. I got emails that no one could access my book reviewing blog:

http://readingandmorereading.blogspot.com

I posted a message at the help forum at google/blogger.

And when I tried to acess it today in the morning, I found that it has been deleted. Without any prior notice, information or anything of that sort. I lost 650+ posts. That's not all. I lost three years work, all the effort I had put in it. And a massive part of myself. A book blog is intellect's home. I lost all that and more. I don't know if it can be restored. Google has deleted a lot of blogs over the weekend. What I feel is they should have checked first.

I do have a back-up for this blog at wordpress. And I was thinking of getting one for Reading Room but lost it before I could.

Can anyone help me retrieving my blog? I would appreciate it very much.

I will continue posting poetry here, no matter what. And will start from scratch for another book blog, if I can't retrieve it. Massive work but I have to do it.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Gautami! (I just read Bethany's post.) It appears your blog was hacked into, from the message I'm getting when I try to visit it. i really hope you manage to retrieve it!

When visiting the site with firefox I get a warning about it being a "Attack Site" - which usually means the site has been hacked and viruses and other spyyware added so anyone who visits risks being infected.

You might want to make a post warning your readers to check their anti-virus and anti-spyware programs just in case.

SO SORRY! Have you seen the info at this link: http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://readingandmorereading.blogspot.com/

Like others said. Looks like your blog was hacked. If you are able to resolve it and delete the malicious code, I'm sure your content will still be there. What a pain though!

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I really hope that you manage to get all your contents back.

If it helps at all I have all your posts since mid-January (when I got my new computer) on my computer. I'm sure that other people will have been following you for longer than that too, so will have more.

Good luck!

Go to your blogger dashboard, at the bottom of blogs listed there's a notice that you are showing let's say 2 of 5 blogs, click to view all and you may be able to access it...unless of course it was deleted, then I'm not sure but I'll try to see if there's another way...although God knows I'm not that HTML savy ;)

Ahh, the Google love continues!

Amazing... all the more reason to change to WordPress, though -- I really think Google's going to do away with free blogging.

Hang in there, love. Follow the lead Natasha left for you, and good luck!

Hi, don't be too sad, Gautami. Got to www.archive.org, enter http://readingandmorereading.blogspot.com and get many pages of your blog.

Best wishes
Ralf

Oh, forgot to say: It will say "no matches", but then have a look in in line two: Click here to search for all pages on readingandmorereading.blogspot.com/ It shows pages of 2007.

Best wishes
Ralf

oh my gosh, I was wondering what happened. I'm sorry your blog was deleted, at least you have a backup.
this makes me want to make a backup of my own, so much work goes into our blogs.

Wow, how stressful and upsetting! I hope it's just a glitch and you can get it back!

This is so sad. But I am really hopefull that support will restore your blog. I guess it will be really hard trying to rework everything. I hope Gautami that you wont have to do that.

Anyone of us can get you your latest posts from google reader. I guess at least 30 of them, I am not sure. Let me know if you need any help with that. But again I am hoping it wont come to that.

I hope that you are able to get your blog content back and pop it onto another site if necessary...this is just horrible. I had no idea when I told you about the message that your blog would then disappear...ugh...

what a trial.

I'll still keep tabs here at the poetry site.

This is horrible news. I really hope some of it is salvageable.
