who are we?

there might be wealth of questions for you
but I seek no answers
not in your words
what I wish to hear
you won't say
that's what you think, is it not?
think what you like
I don't really care
too much hassle

your answers even if you made the effort
won't register in me
as I have switched off that arena
I like the numbness that permeates me.
kind of injected into me,
it has become a part of me

isn't it strange
what I disliked about your persona
is now what I am

"where are the questions,
where are the answers
-
who is really you, who is really me?

You have a nice way with words; I found this poem to be sad.

Well thought out lines these..

But then there's nothing strange..we tend to change.. real struggle is only this...can we stay same..

Good lines - sounds like a mother or father thinking about her or his parents.

Best wishes
Ralf

Wonderful piece. The end, all though it has been stated a few time before, was perfect. Isn't it funny how often what we grow to dislike is what we become. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent, as always.

Nice work Gautami, several good lines in this one. It also took me along the same path as Ralf, getting the feeling of becoming all the resentful traits of one's parents.

Isn't it amazing how that happens? Good poem!

Our indifference is often a product of what we ignore in ourselves.

It happens sometime, and when it happens it is so sad, isn't it? I've had this kind of experience too.

Gautami,

Read 3 poems now. One about your arrival is very touchy and truthful too. This one states the facts of life as of today.

Take care

I like the truthfulness, honesty, and downright humanness in this poem,

I also like the thought of "what I disliked about your persona, is now what I am". Quite thought-provoking...

I agree with the other commenters - the ending is spot on (what I disliked about your persona...) I think we can all relate to that!

A little sad, but there's a power to your words.

I agree with Cynthia--thought- provoking! Yes, this works!

I wrote a poem once about an evil person... and by the time I got to the end of it, I felt like I was the evil one! So I very much understand your poem. As bitter as one is, they must rise above it. Very profound poem, Gautami.
