baton of time

I wear my newly stitched wings,
pluck time from the sky
I nudge it towards you
you make a face as if it stinks

my shoulders itch so much
I change my gait
one of my wings slips off

the time I gave you
is melting so fast
my strength recedes along with it

when you see that
you solidify it again
ripen it and pass it back to me

my wings flutter
I fly away to my destiny
the sun might burn me
but it will also give me light

A butterfly? Moth? Nice capture of the struggle to escape the cocoon.

If Sun burns you.. it will be you giving light....Gautami..sun would have played his role..giving you light before you burn..don't know..have started feeling that unless one burns..one can't spread light.. Thank you, as always.. you are on a roll..flowing creativity..

I loved how this flows, much like a butterfly in flight. Such great lines, too. I really enjoyed this.

A dream of consequence. It changed me, and it made me laugh in delight.

I am reminded of the story of Icarus but with a twist. Yet I can conjure several meanings from this. Interesting concept. Nice title.

I think this is one of your best poems, yet! Right from the first line I was hooked. So many scrumptious poetic elements to it!

when the clock talks we are afraid and throw it away...But Time is the fire in which we all burn and finally we go and time stays. Nice depiction.
