melted

broken breath, I left it
shivering on the stairs
icicles as its innards
burnt by frost
now see fire
engulfing dirt
my aorta can take it
while I bleed happiness

Good poem, and how nice
that you could submit it
to both Applehouse and
G-Man. I like your style
and flow.

I am becoming a huge fan of your free verses, Gautami...
And this poem really doubled the reason for my doing so... it's a beautiful 160!!
May those icicles never affect the gush of bleeding happiness..

A lot of imagery to behold here. Lovely, prose!

Cold, cold, cold, like the end of true love. Beautifully put together.
