musically yours

that elegant singer had created chemistry
he was enjoying the interlude
loud music with no substance was more his style
soothing notes were for weaklings
shadows on the walls appeared so normal
were his thoughts grotesque
pyramids over pyramids of it?
his work was all done

"when the opera started again,
he daydreamed some more"

I edited the following heavily:
pyramid of dreams

Yeah...
I'd be day dreaming too if I was at the Opera.

Music with closed eyes. Let the mind wander. Nice.

Most excellent story, bound in music. I can almost hear it...

I love opera, but I can relate with the daydreaming thing, best stories I ever did write.

I too loved your wry take on opera- going. The earlier version gave me more, but the rvision was tightly written - always to be desired. I had thought on first reading the revised version that 'he' was the singer, which puzzled me a bit.

I love music with a passion, but opera has always passed me by. So if opera is the target, I'm very much in tune with this!

Lovely, Guatami. I like soothing notes are for weaklings, and can picture the singer.

I actually enjoy opera - to a degree. Well, I like a good aria. In truth, I'm more of an operetta fan.

I think your honed-down version of this piece has more power, although the original had some lovely images that could possibly be reincarnated in another poem?

I can picture this singer too. I like opera music for a while, then daydream too!

That was pretty good, I would like to see the Spiderman one, if it doesn't get shut down!

Blood, Sweat and Tears is mine this week.

I can tell from your words here that you have an affinity for music in many forms. Nice 55, Gautami!

Great 55, Gautami. I don't frequent the opera but have enjoyed a few. Music fills my life as I'm married to a musician.
