vitally bereft

I seek an empty space
insanity, you call it
an erratic path-
I walk in a straight line
luminous light from eyes of a deer
lead me to a small alcove
I hide my heart in there,
walk back to waste land

"bereft of something vital,
I feel so light-
I call it an omen"

Dear Gautami: Lightness of being as soul lifts off. The imagery and introspection are eluding to something..."eyes of a deer"
and "hide my heart". How "bereft of something vital" leaves one open to open. My prayer is
to reverse this; unomen the opening which only expects miracles. Very desert "wastelandish" Hope you find the "vital" again. Heartfelt wishes and thank-you!

Beautifully done! Funny how others call it insanity.

a little insanity is not a bad thing though...may your heart be unhidden once more....

Insanity to some is merely reality to others. I love the nature aspect to this.

It's a good place to leave one's heart.

I'm being forced to walk in straight lines while my heart wants to wander. I understand this completely!

This leaves me thinking about my own insanity, my heart and my path. What a great write. Thank you.

I've always been intrigued by omens, I love the way you close your story.

Beautiful!

The unbearable lightness of that empty space between 'now' and 'then'... hold it gently with open hands and see what may come.

One person's insanity is another person's normal. Nicely done.

Beautiful and heartbreaking. You sure do write so much in so few words.
I don't know if it was intentional, but the Wasteland (eliot) allusion works well here.

The first two lines make the impact and hence I found them the most prominent.

But then the heart needs to be next to you:)

Beautiful and nothing at all wrong with insanity in fact I think its inherent in most artists, intense passion

love the contrast here, very nicely done. Erratic path, immediately followed by straight line. Enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing:)

That place of emptiness is what we create to be filled with the divine...at least that's how I see it. Beautiful.
