unhinged

I hammered nails
yet the door was askew
you shook it from its hinge
to make Plan B work
instead of door
we have a curtain

now everyone is amused by our innards

I have given up DIY for that very reason. Loved it!

You managed to evoke humor so eloquently. Nicely written.

I hope it doesn't get cold where you are, Gautami!

I hope it wasn't an exterior door! Keep practicing with other projects and you won't have a house left. Funny!

When I wrote this, I didn't mean it as funny. However, it seems like to majority so, maybe I WAS being funny. Only Kerry could get into it....

Love it! I knew a man who insisted on building the house for his family to live in. I last visited them three years after they had moved in - and he had yet to give the bathroom a door. Er, the bathroom was right off the living room...

Am I the only one who interpreted this as enigmatically serious? I found it moving and mysterious.

we once threatened to do that very thing to my daughter's room - got a little tired of her slamming to door :) She did NOT think it funny!

i just watched a video on parkour, and how it teaches not only the body but the mind to be agile and to find the way around not only problems, but the Expected.
this had the same resonance.
precisely done.

It is amusing how many projects end up with an outcome like we don't expect.
