The insubstantial and unreliable bound-to-fail hope for the future did ground her in a way realism never could. Believing up front what would, in fact, happen later would have crushed her.)<br /><br />I like the ambiguity of cloud doors. When the sky is clear, are the doors all open? or all closed?
