Trick of Being Scientific----Poetry Thursday

nowadays, emphasis should more on the scientific-
studies which can be comprehended with proofs
explanations are to be simple with no blatant tricks.

learning process should never make any one sick-
taking all those in a stride, uncaring of any spoofs.
nowadays, emphasis should more on the scientific.

mind to be nurtured with extreme care brick by brick-
stimulation provided for thinking out of the loops,
explanations are to be simple with no blatant tricks.

there is nothing in the discipline no one cannot pick;
knowledge to be paramount, never considered goofs.
nowadays, emphasis should more on the scientific,

which makes commencement of it appealing to click
in psyche, taking child’s intelligence beyond the roofs;
explanations are to be simple with no blatant tricks.

paradoxes prove the rule, learning has to be quick,
certain theories though tricky made easy in groups.
nowadays, emphasis should more on the scientific-
explanations are to be simple with no blatant tricks.

* I was not very satisfied with my original post. I have played around a bit. Even now I am not much satisfied with it. As I said once before, villanelles are killers.

**I am feeling very sad about the announcement of closure of Poetry Thursday. I wish all the best to Rob Kistner if he hosts PT or starts a new poetry site.

Love the new look of your blog and you seem to love the villanelle. In my younger days I was more scientific so this had a resonance for me.

Still like this one. Life seems to get more fuzzy the longer you live.

Carole: I like villanelle. It gives me more discipline.

steve: Thanks!

brian: This is not one of my best attempts. I was not feeling up to it.
Maybe I will try to tweak it a bit.

Villanelles are not for the faint of heart! Your line "emphasis should more on the scientific" works very well in the poem. I like this, because I dislike the way we want to reduce everything down to scientific explanation...

My hats off to ya for trying. More structure than my little pea brain can comprehend.

my goodness...aren't you beautiful..

I very muched like this poem and the word choice with the goofs and loops.

I once told a brother in law,a scientist, much smarter and sharper than I will ever be, that quantum physics really interested me.

He looked at me at said.."You will never understand it.. It's very complicated"

I said..."I don't understand the star...but I still love to think about the universe."

This poem made me feel the same way.

Somehow I have never supported quicker the better theory.. but its amazing how I can spot generation gaps with such small age differences, the techniques, the morale, the attitude and the approach have all changed when it comes to education, is it for the better? I have doubts though.

I have never attempted to write a villanelle. I do not have the discipline and creativity it requires that you have, Gautami. No blatant tricks there. :)

constance: I have written quite a bit villanelles. Some work well, a few did not. I am not one to give up.

You got the gist of what I am trying to say here. Thanks!

pat: you are so good at free verse that I can never compare with that.

dsnake1: Do write one..;D

paisley: Once you start, you get hooked. Do give it a try.

regina: thanks. Well, I am like that only..:D

wendy: Thanks.

I agree. We don't have to understand anything in order to enjoy i or like it.

rambler: I wrote it on behalf of all us science teachers. The present books leave much to be desired and I wish for easy and simpler explanations so that the child's interest remains intact in learning the sciences. We don't want the child to be put off but to strive to learn..

You are brilliant with form poety and this one is no exception. I have to really be in top condition to even attempt these.

It's been awhile since I've stopped by--like the new look. This is very nice--I have no idea how to do it, but it looks difficult. Thanks for stopping by and noticing I was among the missing.

I am always impressed by people who pull off form poetry well; i've never had the knack for structure. I like this one a lot.

Well said. I love the magic of repetition in this one… Says a lot… ‘The trick of being scientific’. Yes, there must be some trick to it, there’s no other way to understand the story of the fabulous success of science!?:) (From: Penny For My Thought Press)

I have never attempted a villanelle in my life, and have no idea what one is...lol. But I do know that I loved the way the words rolled off my tongue as I read this! I will research "villanelle" and then maybe I'll give it a try...As always, such a pleasure reading anything you've written!

Thank you for you well wishes. I have suspended my endeavors on a new site for Thursday, as I await Dana's announcement.
