dust laden keyboard
will wait for my fingers
my laptop and my computer
won't blink again
journal of my life would be still
the streets won't see my feet again
banks will call and fall silent
in the closet
someone will find my hidden jewels
all my papers would be carefully scrutinized
but would I care,
would anyone care
hope someone misses my poetry,
and the reviews I write
but I know and you know,
nothing will change in this world
when I die
that is what I wish-
no immortality after death.
Poetry for me is a way of living, it comes out of nowhere and I have to write it down. How I write, what I write, I decide. I am not asking you to be judgemental. I am gifted with the ability to see beyond the obvious.

fairy tale
golden wings
it stood there near that stream
creature so beautiful
I circled from it
it was gone
I felt an itch on my shoulder blades
had I turned to a fairy?
it stood there near that stream
creature so beautiful
I circled from it
it was gone
I felt an itch on my shoulder blades
had I turned to a fairy?

embracing weeds
I saw the message in the sky
arrived as soon as I could
weeds embraced her lovingly
ignoring her raucous breathing
her closed eyes were strung together
(I wanted those to open and look at me)
I took a blanket, covered her carefully
although I knew it was a lost cause
it was the 11th Anniversary of 10th day
of I don't recall what (wait while I think)
she obviously had forgotten it too
or I wouldn't have found her in water
I had been anticipating to meet her
those words had already formed in my mind
"do you remember what we promised when we met...?
certainly not your inevitable death "

numbers go nutty while I watch
all those numbers run around
I catch them
put them in different slots
but they escape again
curious to know each other
I like the picture
logical numbers
going nuts over each other
squares and cubes
climb exponentially
trigonometry breaks
into geometry
they giggle like a kid
and suddenly embrace,
break away guiltily
precalculus is the silent one
it has too much in its pocket
number system spouts euclid's lemma
roots of quadratic are always paired
but you know, it is all statistics
each portion of math says this
If I should die, think only this of me-
how to resurrect those numbers again
I catch them

that hammer
If I had a hammer, I would smash it
on your pumpkin patch, think it is your head
all blood and gore, a pulp, beauty to behold.
*************
a nail, essential in the centre of that wall
for your photo to be displayed for all
If I had a hammer, I would hit hard

bring on the cawing
they sit on my window sill
cawing creates a cacophony
I try to shoo them away
they don't budge an inch
black crows on my window sill
what tales they carry
of this world or the nether one
I try to shoo them away
they keep themselves fixated
black crows on the terrace floor
the cawing gets worse
they fight for supremacy
I try to shoo them away
they stare at me unblinking
black crows simply jumping around
a sudden quiet, no one is there
I look heavenwards
I try to bring them back
Where did they go in a jiffy
blacks crows possess magical powers
"my dad used to say, no other bird brought you news about your ancestors"
cawing creates a cacophony
I try to shoo them away

my monkey reads you well
your hands in your pocket
that lopsided smile
your balled handkerchief in right pocket
coat all wrinkled
and jeans so dirty
my monkey reads you well
your feet so dirty
sweat stains on your shirt
your suitcase open
in the centre of the room
a banana on top of it
my monkey reads you well
on that bed
under the covers
sloppily you fall asleep
I scatter the pillows
my deed done so well
my monkey reads me well
it pushes me into the bathroom
under flowing water I wash it
it hands me a towel,
I wipe it clean
taking in back where it belongs
my monkey reads me well
it was I who knifed him
if we had left the room
and gone on our way
but for my monkey who wanted to stay
"and why not, it was his monkey too"

nowhere island
the morning's moisture misted on his beard
while I watched from the sidewalks
the lake reflected the mountains
and I could see only him
his glasses perched on his head
he was immersed in silence
golden light of the sun
poured over him
showering him with warmth
I wished to catch it from him like a cold
when I came into his vision
he paused from his silence
his eyes took a catastrophic look
he slipped down his glasses
purposefully disappeared into the deep lanes
"no stranger to our gauzy history,
nor to our torrid chemistry,
where can he escape from the paring memories?"
