unspoken

I wrote that headline in my note book
you tore it
lonely page wandered
bereft of energy
a joke you said
I know better

music is the only language you understand

lowly flows

that okay
is
a front you know

never could
you
understand. slow

as always
my
response had to bow

miserable
mood
keeps me so low

let us both
share
nightmares that flow

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wrote half a piku, in my own fashion
Piku:
three lines
3 syllables Line 1
1 syllable Line 2
4 syllables Line 3
Next
     choose one or two key words
     find rhymes for them
     slightly re-write the first piku
thin divide
we left the turrets and domes
embraced this small wooden hut
you, my child, don't know it yet
that jitter I used to feel,
a mansion is not for me
I feel grace in the open vastness
waste land for some
when you climb that mountain
you will know about that thin divide
"grasses may lie low
our heads are held high
a blunt speech as any"
fortune tellers
I climb out of the window
in the middle of the day
to get a grip on the clouds
my gold fish has escaped
riding that yellow kite
I hover at the opening
the trees make fun of me
I could never nudge the trunks
but they allowed fortune tellers
my fortune flies in the sky
floating with that fish
I fan myself, latching the window
"I am too agitated to breathe"
