mother of mine

When William Butler wrote that line-
"When you are old and grey and full of sleep
what was he thinking, I wouldn't know
I hope he did not mean it as a theory
he was generalizing, I presume
one look at my mother, his theory fails
she is old (don't tell her that!)
but not grey and is full of activity
a radiant heroine in her own way

"and she ended with a daughter who is always tired"

incomplete yet so replete

In day's last light
he moved very quietly
hidden behind her

hidden from moon
his non-existent shadows
spooked her out

out came her arms
to protect her facade
and hit him instead

hit by her
he fell on ground
embracing it

sweet earthy embrace
took him in
held him like a lover

earth as his beloved
he kissed it passionately
needing none other

a tale which doesn't have a happy ending

glistening dew on grass
remind me of beady eyes
of that dragon
whom I befriended
in my nocturnal forays
unafraid of his hissing
I had touched him softly
and felt him crumbling to my touch
he reciprocated
his talons so sharp and scary
but I remained unscathed

after the world slept
we roamed the forbidden lands
hidden skys, tunnelled earth
before the first light of sun,
he used to hide, I never knew where
one night I found his hide
cut into million of pieces
blood all over, nothing else left
now I roam the obsolete underworld
between dead and undead

"why shed a tear for me?
I won't see it or feel it"

hummer

it arrives solo
nibbles into nature-

an event of sorts?

clouds roll over

sky churns like butter

turbulent clouds roll over
you watch for night rain

rains beat on unwashed windows
dirt gets washed away
you are again as spotless as ever

goodbye, turbulent thoughts-
let the clouds roll away those
and may the bigger picture
enclosed within you
give way to rhapsody of senses

a blow

beauty hunts for joy

forever becomes a thing
winds blow it away

mystical dawn

bamboo shoots beat against each other
the sound of it
in the silence of the night
scares away dark thoughts

how long have I been awake?
it seems like forever
aeons of time merging into it
is it morning yet?

bellowing curtains
shadow the moonlight
when dawn breaks in,
into the room

I fall asleep deeply, dead to the world
but very alive in mystical one

it is two o'clock-
time when someone else’s love
becomes transiently yours

birthday swan song

song is but a joy
illogically I sing offkey
on my birthday today

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today it is my birthday. I had looked forward of it being the best one of my life but that didn't happen. So what? I can still celebrate it, can't I? I will gift myself with some jewellery, I am hankering after. Another pair of Platinum studs and of course, books. What else should I buy? I wouldn't mind suggestions.
special talent
your pregnant pauses-
are your only special talent
mine is to ignore
slumber: haiku-lets
deprived of sleep
I slumber dreamily in the day
when morbidity digs
digged morbidity
turns around and runs away
heaven eludes
heaven: misnomer;
cloaking that invisibilty
of our ignorance
an ignorant mind
is delirious in itself
leave it well alone
aloneness suits-
mind turns towards bigger dreams
thriving within it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I call those dancing verses, renamed haiku-let here. I have not done this for a while and thought why not chain my disjointed thoughts here in those short verses? Let me know what you think. Only Sir Silley is barred from commenting..:D

night sounds

fraught with such distraught
in darkness he touched her arm;
said, dispel my insomnia

words broken into tiny pieces

I build my words one over the other
carefully brick those in
cement the edges;
look at my work from afar
note the unevened plains
I again break each portion in tiny bits
rearrange differently
my own words give me strength
I mix it with pleasure
add gold sheen to polish
watch it reflected in your seductive eyes

"your presence takes my poetry to a higher plane"

waking in to dreams

melting luscious lips,
soft as rose petals
moist, glowing
sensually inviting

though asleep, she
made him fall in love.
he swayed, ready to
wake her up with a kiss.

with breath held up
she waited for his lips
to merge with hers,
so as to she could

simulate to be woken up.
a prince who loved
her to eternity and back
for what she was.

she wanted to leave
her past far behind-
she was so fed up.
witch had cursed her

a new lover each night
since she was sixteen.
for a while, she had enjoyed
pleasures of the flesh.

while those thoughts
chased in her mind-
the prince bent down
kissing her softly.

"voltage jolting through, she ceased being a single entity"

fantasizing about glass

that glass of water-
water swirls of it suddenly
uncannily I see you

photographic peace

photo in the room
I can almost feel you there-

peace shatters in me

rays permeate

growing old with you-
incandescent emotions
aglow within my heart

now the waiting.....

any sound gets her to the window
she knows he isn't anywhere near
went back on his way
she misses the silence-
his silence that had made her mad
she wants it back
those highways, the small stops on the way
his tattoos on his biceps
his crooked hat
the smell of gasoline
his brusque caring
his facade cemented into her
she trembles with that memory
encloses it to her extremes

ghost's tongue

your tongue lashes out
electrifying words fall in-
new leaf shrivels up

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I am a mere female, I can't write good verses. How can words come out when I am kind of busy primping my hair (whatever that means), doing my nails and all the other suff that females do? However, I will make
Percy Bysshe Shelley (ghost of) eat his words. As he can't eat anything else (remember he is a ghost), words ought to revive him from his smelly grave. So much for supporting Sir Silley!
a start
a new year, a chance
to start my life from scratch
regrets dumped on the way
