anger spinning out of control
I lash out at you
my face so ruddy
your smug smile incenses me
I find that untidy envelope
gullible words rustle in my ear
I shudder in a subliminal way
but sunshine mellows me
you, the fulcrum of my thoughts,
make anger rush out.
come, let me hold you close,
let me exist in a fool's paradise.

Gorgeous write, Gautami. I've been there, love the words here.
Great take on the prompt! I love this and can totally relate!!
This is so very lovely.
So many will relate to this.
This one is brilliant.
I like your metaphors. In particular I like the lines, 'I find that untidy envelope/ gullible words rustle in my ear'
a brilliant write ...
This made me smile. Enjoyed the ride of these thoughts. Nice poem.
Wow, the surprising turnaround took me by surprise. Love the last line. "Been there, done that, Got the t-shirt!" :-)
very evocative of past relationships gone bad but what is life without a little illusion?
Love the choice of words. Enjoyed it. :)
You have created a richness of emotion.
very well written indeed.we all connect with the emotions in our own ways.
Awesome poem... I really like the ending.
Outstanding write!
Hm... fool's paradise is not a good place to visit, eh?

A beautiful poem.. loved it..
I really like this one, Gautami. One of the smoother uses of those difficult words that I’ve seen. You brought them all together beautifully.
