saunter

silent lilting tresses call out to the artist
for peering into her silhouette
if he could only see the color
of her sensuous eyes
her exterior is so pleasing
her wholeness is a rich lyric

wild beauty is no alliteration
yet it resounds within him
every pore of his on fire

the artist in him
calls out to lilting the tresses silently
her silhouette is pouring into darkness
eyes so sensuous, color still a puzzle
light reflects her exterior
into a lyric of richness

"mind saunters, heart shimmers, body smoulders
yet the artist in him can only falter for a little while"

Beautiful poem! I loved: "her wholeness is a rich lyric." I used saunter in my title, too!

A poem rich in sensuality and sensitivity. I love the sauntering of the mind.

Thanks for taking part in Poetry Pantry. Mine: http://inthecornerofmyeye.blogspot.com/2012/09/cold.html

All very sensual. I sometimes wonder how artists do feel when they paint a nude subject. They must be 'moved'
Lovely poem.

Loved those last two lines -- summed up the "tension" between subject and artist.

Ahh... love this... especially:

wild beauty is no alliteration
yet it resounds within him
every pore of his on fire

Some women have everything going for them, don't they?
Your poem has such a coating of lustrous varnish

As an artist and writer who works from inner vision rather than live model, I've often wondered about the energy and connection that must occur between artist and subject. You've hit on a very likely scenario, and done so interestingly, lyrically.

Love the picture painted here of her wild beauty". You took me there, inside his mind.

You captured such a realistic glimpse into the relationship that may exist between artist an subject. So well done.

Sensual and beautiful.

I love poems about passion and romance. I also like the repeat of a phrase, it gives it greater emphasis. A beautiful write!

I like the mirrored image effect here, where the lines early and repeated, yet in a varied order later, offering a new aspect. Great write. Thanks
