her hands and feet
suppose she is searching
the geometry of her origin
the lines, that curve, and an angle
throw her a lifeline
netted wings, broken at places
urge her to fly
her tears wet the ground
cementing her fate
"a seedling, perched on the earth
needles the mind, to prod, to incite"

OH! THIS:
"the geometry of her origin"

I love this peice...can't say why but it made me think of the dragon fly.
Oh this is so sad to me, if I understand it well. It can no longer fly and dies just cemented there tragically!
Very good piece. Thanks

Love the deep emotion. The ending is heart wrenching
"a seedling, perched on the earth
needles the mind, to prod, to incite"
Exactly what happens in life. An idea will certainly provoke the mind. Wonderful take Gautami!

Wonderful, the geometry of her origin, the netted wings, the urging her to fly.....glorious.
so many wonderful lines to complete a beautiful work..xx
So beautifully written :) I also live for the written word which comes in a mixture of poetry and flash fiction. I really enjoyed your poem.
This has a very somber meaning to me, I see an abused woman in those broken wings,
So sad--this image. I can see it as several things.
Such a sad ending filled with emotion...
Nice words and a sad twist at the end.
Each of us has wings to fly and when they are damaged the rest of us is damaged too.
The way you wrote this, it seemed like fragments,
which is how I see this piece of art. Wonderful!
so creatively wrought
this makes me think about all the women who had been abused... :(
Poor, broken creature.
it's heartbreaking for anyone to be in that space..to be stuck forever..sad...
sometimes fate is cruel :(
stuck in the dirt by mud wetted by tears. nice job
Brilliantly penned!

I never thought of planting a seed as also a death of sorts, stuck in, cemented into the geometry of someone's origins! Neat.
Such a sadness here.
Perhaps her flying days of thunder have come to an end and it is time to become more firmly rooted ?
to prod, to incite...
powerful.
I like that 'she' search for 'the geometry of her origin' ~ interesting quote too.
yes, I can see it
I hope she will bloom...
