tradition doodles

cowering within the shell of soul
tradition loses out on meanings
absentmindly the pen doodles
on that blank page trying to
fill it in with the past events
which have to be recalled
out of cold numbness

"if only it was that easy"

#Update on Dec 7, 2008: This is NOT about writers block.

What a clever meltdown of the three prompts! And they work so well together! Some doodle!

I like this one very much. It is so well expressed that I almost felt uneasy.

Sometimes the struggles allow us to find the inner strength and insight.

This can be a struggle, to be sure. Working through numbness--reviving life--can be hard work.

This poem express your frustration very well, good work.

This gets more intriguing with every read. I see so much in it - especially what seems to me at least, the irony of the last line. Very powerful.

traditions trying to fill in the past moments..very interesting..may be it is meant to relive every word of it

Indeed sometimes tradition does lose out on meanings and we must find a way to fill the space left out!

gautami--

wonder what the relationship of 'absentmindedly' and 'cold numbness' might have

Thanks for this--if only!

Never is. But maybe in the doodling one can find what some peace. Makes me think of my own doodling.

It's there, I know it is! Just a little
doodler's block.

Yes, it seems that some traditions are obligations and meaningless "Have to be recalled out of cold numbness."

Am not sure of your thoughts and they may be private...sometimes we want to break out of tradition (our soul) but it isn't that easy, by no means

Very thoughtprovoking doodles

I'm feeling just like this right now. You did a wonderful job merging the prompts.

I really like your opening line-- it feels cold and confining.
