The title sounds as if for poetry! But it has nothing to do with it.
Schools closed for nine days! Last afternoon and early evening I was out shopping. I literally shopped till I dropped. I was so tired that I feel asleep at 9.30 pm. Too early for me. But I could barely manage to keep my eyes open. This morning I was up early at 4.30 am.
Hope the kids like what I bought for them, clothes, toys, junk jewellery, books etc etc. Chocolates, cakes, pastries comes next. The best news was, we finally received one month's salary. So that should more than cover my splurging.
I had ordered books and those too arrived at the right time. Next task is to decorate the christmas tree, pack the gifts and invite the kids. And hope I too get gifts...LOL!
I don't know why but I feel happy as well as as sad. conflicted emotions. At times it gets too much to deal with those.
SANTA, where ARE you?

Hi, Gautami
What a sweet aunt you are! I am sure the kids will love their wonderful gifts, books and the sweets and pastries! I'm sure the Christmas tree looks wonderful, don't forget to put on some nice, cheery Christmas songs for the kids to hum to! :)
I received a very unusual Christmas Greeting this year - it was titled "Hindu Christmas Blessing" and it was a slide show with some amazing pictures of the Hindu Pantheon interspersed with Christmas poems - I thought it very aptly embraced the universal spirit of Christmas and the Hindu all-encompassing attitude towards religion.
Merry Christmas, Gautami and lots of love and hugs!
I literally love, or at least like, how you used the word literally.
Since you shopped then went to bed early, you truly and actually shopped till you dropped.
The misuse of "literally" in contexts that are obviously metaphorical is almost (but not quite) enough to make my head literally explode.
Merry Christmas and Happy Yuletide Rantings or at least it works for me...

Thanks Polona, plus ultra, pat, margie!
lotus: The way I was feeling I had to get mysef out of the stupor. Buying stuff for the kids was cathartic.
Splurging does give us a high at times.
I like the card on your blog. Amazing.
