his stature carries through centuries
not a legacy of one country,
transcends boundary
yet I find
"Abraham Lincoln was a lot shorter than I thought he would be"

Good one. It makes me think...
(And that's not easy on a Saturday morning!)
=)
I guess I never thought much about what Abraham Lincoln's legacy meant to the world. You gave me an new perspective.
Very nice! The perspective from someone living elsewhere on this beautiful planet was a refreshing read.
You have certainly been careful with the number of words but have painted a great picture!
I wondered how bloggers around the world would handle this prompt, and now I know! Excellently!
Nicely done. It's interesting to hear what people from other countries think of the man. Kat
straight up! That's what I'm talking about .... nicely done .
It takes a poet and a mathematician to pull this one off!
Very nice.
(I am still thinking about a title for your other poem!)
Best wishes,
Anna

My Saturday Centus
hehe. a fun 160. perhaps the man overcame the height?
my 160
I thought he was tall and thin!
Halloween Grinch
It's the ones who turn to be much taller than you expected who are really scary.
His legacy rippled. Thanks for pointing that out to this ugly American.
history has proven time and again, we should never underestimate the short of stature - although they might not be the best picks for our basketball teams... :)
Interesting perspective.
A lot shorter and a lot wiser than anyone thought he would be! He had a disorder called acromegaly (pituitary) in which the bones of the face were larger in proportion to the rest of his body and I guess that gave the impression that he should be taller!
How in the heck did you layer all this meaning into less then 50 words?
That is some skilled writing for sure!
This was a neat perspective and a sweet little gem of a link.

This is beautiful, and it serves as a great reminder to all of us who are fortunate enough to live in the USA that we are truly blessed. And it's wonderful to hear you say what a great impact this man had on the entire world.
Heartfelt thanks..........cj
