that hammer

If I had a hammer, I would smash it
on your pumpkin patch, think it is your head
all blood and gore, a pulp, beauty to behold.

*************
a nail, essential in the centre of that wall
for your photo to be displayed for all
If I had a hammer, I would hit hard

Quite the powerful statement with this offering. I feel the frustration and anger and I feel for the pumpkin, oh the hammer wrath! Great writing!

Interesting poetic style. I like it.

As for smashing things, I think you've got that one covered pretty well too!

My goodness, the first part is kind of violent. I like the second part though. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Nice poem(s).

It is clear by your SC-post that this prompt is also very useable in poetry. Works well, even if it is a bit violent. (Somebody seems to need some 'anger-management' here!)

Thank you so much for your kind words on my SC-post. With all this encouragement I may try to write a short story. It can't hurt to give it a try.

Nice to meet you. I am now a follower of your blog.

Best wishes,
Anna

Methinks it's a very good thing you don't have a hammer!

Well who rattled your cage then? I even noticed some very carefully chosen words in the preceding comments to avoid offending you further.

Whatever the unseen motivation for such a powerful piece, it still captured the pent up feelings of your narrator so well.

I confess that today, I really like that first one, and I probably shouldn't think too much, or it would give me ideas. Excellent writing!

Oh so powerful is your hammer.

Nicely written.

Love it! I've been known to break a dish or two but smashing a pumpkin sounds like a lot more fun!

Powerfully and evocatively written.

Thanks for linking up.
