Musician in the Rain by Robert Doisneau |
you may pull your cap and turn your back
I will not curl my toes
and bend backwards for a few coins
I carry that umbrella to lift up my spirits
yet my instrument nests under it
how can I neglect the fact that
I can still conjure up a few tricks
"that deep sigh-
what does it convey?
some arrested thoughts in the midst of nothing"

This poem perfectly interprets the charming photo........loved it.
Great combination of the prompts here!
The description in this is so poetic.
Love how you interpreted the photo!
Then I shall offer so much more than a mere trinket, just to hear you play!
Paris is beautiful even on a rainy day. I like to think the deep sigh expels all the negative thoughts, having done so the sun will surely shine again. Thought provoking interpretation in your piece.
The last line feels existential. I love it.
charming and fun! Have a happy day!
its curious to me how we somehow just KNOW its paris. why must this photo be of paris?
the picture and the poem complement each other..love the
description.. :)
Great interpretation of the picture or vice versa, chicken or egg?
... very nice.
I love using the umbrella for uplifting the soul!
We are all buskers in some way or another...
fits the image well ~
Lovely work here - Guatami - especially liked:
"how can I neglect the fact that
I can still conjure up a few tricks..."

Love the mood you captured here. Well done.
=)
Great opening...you certainly found the right voice for the image
I like the attitude in this poem.
Such a tormented spirit as often artists are. Beautifully captured.
Sweet as! I'd love to be a musical conjurer!
Unbowed and unrepetent, aware of the magic of the music... lovely interpretation of the picture!
Your words definitely brought that image to life.
Love the life in your words, very befitting of this Magpie prompt!
A delight!
