drifting words

I put the final stitches to that patch
yarn was coming apart
my plum sweater was a gift from the past
the letters had stopped coming
I had not expected the drift
I shovelled that sense of loss
and let the wind stop my thoughts
shouldn't I have spun a tale for friends
change the old to new?

"an image that forms behind the eyes
how do I explain dancing words?"

This flowed fast a furiously. It reads like it came to you quickly from a muse with something to say. Excellent write!

Great poem, gautami. You express so many emotions and desires in so few lines.

No, some secrets of the past should be held tight within you. I love to imagine those dancing words behind your eyes, but don't tell me their secret.

The tale should be spun, I think, only if the friends are willing to sit still long enough to listen...

Words in your writings are freely dancing. Always a pleasure to watch that dance.

no need to explain even if you can.
