intangibles is mirrored in the orbs of your eye
however, you see me watching you intimately
to read the mystery embedded deeply. you sigh
unwilling to share that enigma shielded so closely
by none other than you. even from me, who is but
you. I discerned it right from the beginning, wholly
accepting it, questions farther from my mind. shut
me out, if you must, in the end you have to arrive
tapping at my heart, asking to stay, twisting my gut.
you know not, your love shows though you strive
to keep it in check by your coldness or plain anger
nothing can hide that aura bursting forth. deprive
me if you must, why deny yourself that sensation
which is beyond intelligence, beyond comprehension?

Do read my free verse, Spaced Out, which was my first PT post of this week. That hits hard.

I like this line. To me it speaks of allowing things to happen if only to feel the reasoning behind it. Sometimes we must feel before we speak and for too many that is a hard task.
Nice.
I sense fear. Fear of letting go enough to trust and to love.
Once again, your structured poetry dazzles us.
Wow. Amazing.
a great poem about love and fear of commitment or so i see it
life is always about the duality of the person, man woman...interesting!
I enjoyed to read the poem...
Great insights into relationships. Enjoyed this poem.
This poem made me think of my ex-husband, although I'm often wrong at my "artistic interpretations". Even though interpretations are just that, interpretations, it normally happens that I say "Your poetry/painting/sculpture make me think of kitties" and the artist/poet says "That's nice, I was trying to represent puppies".
So I'm not good with interpretation...I'm a very literal person lol However I saw this as a poem about a man keeping part of himself from the woman who loves him.
Here from Michele's to talk poetry!
you are right. there are some nice 'feelings' between this verse and my most recent meandering.
thanks for dropping by. i'll go read more now.
You truly are a mystical child!
This is brilliant!
the push/pull of individual/other
Nice poetry.
I always so enjoy your poetry, Gautami.
Another great poem here!
Thanks so much for your visit today...it was very special!
Margie:)
The line that really spoke to me was "shut me out, if you must, in the end you have to arrive
tapping at my heart, asking to stay,". It was full of wisdom, resignation and longing all at the same time. Thanks for sharing. :)
very nice!
Michele sent me tgis early A.M. in Los Angeles!
I LOVE that last line, my dear...It is so true that many people deny themselves because they are not open to allowing their feelings to tell them things that are more important than things the only 'the mind' might see...!
I love the last two lines. great poem

your work is beautiful beyond description.
Only a poet? there's no 'only' about it!
Thanks for visiting.
I agree with some others - the last line is most memorable... and strikingly familiar at the same time. Universality? Perhaps.
Michele sent me,
Mike
I commented on this one yesterday, but probably forgot to post it!?:) To hot to think, overhere. 'Powerful!'
Thanks to you all. I value your comments and opinions. This works for most of us, I think. It is not about commitment as few think. It goes much deeper than that.
incredible!
michele sent me.
I often write about tangibles and intangibles in my work, so this piece hits home very strongly.
I'll bet Michele would love it, too, which is why she sent me to see you again. Isn't she wonderful?
Hi there Gautami! Greetings from the overheated southeastern US (actually right at this moment it is not too bad: cooler than yesterday).
Michele sent me to say thank you for sharing your poetry!
N.
i'm with you - don't hide it
celebrate it
cheers
"..you see me watching you intimately to read the mystery embedded deeply."
This speaks so clearly about the eyes being the windows to the soul..
Michele sent me to read your poetry again, Gautami.

I like the selflessness of this. a very endearing work.
In the ARTS, the term intangibles refers to the artist's unique embodiment of substance and form.
I am so thrilled to see your creativity bursting at the seams...but would you really want to be around somebody who strives to hide their love with coldness or plain anger.
Anger is a sign of fear and self loathing. A grand testament that one has lost control of their emotions and reverted to a lower being.
Angry people should be neutered and exiled.
your first line is my favorite...I've always believed eyes were the windows to people's souls...you see so much through them.
