no photograph can do justice to what I see in my mind
those crinkle around your eyes
lines in the corner of your mouth
love for life mirrored by your demeanour
your hands always doing something or the other
your ramrod straight posture
those tiny diamonds in your earlobes reflecting light
when I am dejected
I hear your firm voice inside my head
prodding me, encouraging me to go ahead
I recall you always supporting me
my decisions, after weighing the pros and cons
your love envelops me forever,
which I am assured of receiving for eternity
"how can any photograph do justice to what I see in my mind?"

For my mom, I love you always...

caring loving demonstrations of love are photographs that make eternal images in our hearts! you are lucky to have those!
I thought of my own mother immediately when I read this...so beautiful :)
I don't think it can. Great take on the prompt.
Definitely better than a photograph because, while it doesn't capture physical attributes, it reflects a loving spirit.
What a beautiful testament to your mother...I just wrote a whole piece of how powerful a photograph can be to revitalize the minds eye image --- but inherently you are correct a photo cannot do justice to one's heart/mind image!
Each time you write, I am able to see the world as you see it, and I don't think that love felt can ever be caught in a photograph.
thanks for sharing!
Mums can be like that aye?
Oh, this is great!
A photo is great when you can't see the image for real any more. It prompts beautiful memories.
Anthony took the words out of my mouth!
what a loving tribute....

great word picture. no photo necessary.
What a beautiful tribute, your love for her comes through in every word.
What a stunning tribute to your Mum.
Quite moving!

That's a nice touching post!
Very touching, and I also love the little inner link back to SS.
Moms are great, aren't they?
your words say it all.
great!
any mom would feel honored and proud to receive those words...What a compliment to mothers everywhere for their unconditional love.
You captured your mother's love beautifully here. You are a lucky daughter Tami.

Truly an awesome tribute to your poem and an eloquent poem.
What a beautiful poem. A wonderful take on the prompt.
true of many things and especially poignantly true in this context
thank you gautami
Your post moved me - especially the part about her hands always doing one thing or the other, exactly how I remember my mother!
Ah, this is so touching! Touching!
Simply lovely. A photo would add nothing to your piece
Brilliantly done. The images in our heads run circles around many photos.
moms are special...
Mentioning those diamonds makes this poem and your mom shine! I'll repeat what you said once on my blog, "I love your mom...and mine, too!" Aren't we lucky?
