picture perfect-----Sunday Scribblings

no photograph can do justice to what I see in my mind
those crinkle around your eyes
lines in the corner of your mouth
love for life mirrored by your demeanour
your hands always doing something or the other
your ramrod straight posture
those tiny diamonds in your earlobes reflecting light

when I am dejected
I hear your firm voice inside my head
prodding me, encouraging me to go ahead
I recall you always supporting me
my decisions, after weighing the pros and cons
your love envelops me forever,
which I am assured of receiving for eternity

"how can any photograph do justice to what I see in my mind?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my mom, I love you always...
I don't think it can. Great take on the prompt.
Definitely better than a photograph because, while it doesn't capture physical attributes, it reflects a loving spirit.
What a beautiful testament to your mother...I just wrote a whole piece of how powerful a photograph can be to revitalize the minds eye image --- but inherently you are correct a photo cannot do justice to one's heart/mind image!
Each time you write, I am able to see the world as you see it, and I don't think that love felt can ever be caught in a photograph.
thanks for sharing!
A photo is great when you can't see the image for real any more. It prompts beautiful memories.
Your post moved me - especially the part about her hands always doing one thing or the other, exactly how I remember my mother!
Simply lovely. A photo would add nothing to your piece
Mentioning those diamonds makes this poem and your mom shine! I'll repeat what you said once on my blog, "I love your mom...and mine, too!" Aren't we lucky?
