Poetry for me is a way of living, it comes out of nowhere and I have to write it down. How I write, what I write, I decide. I am not asking you to be judgemental. I am gifted with the ability to see beyond the obvious.

eating away at the guts----Totally Optional Prompts
lodging in the crevices
deeply embedded
multiplied by leaps and bounds
virus engulfs the body-
thriving by depleting
it of its strength.
when weakness hits hard,
it is already too late
to get rid of the parasites
which take their own sweet time
to eat away at the guts
before attacking another victim.
"that's their job, I suppose"
Update(May 2, 2008): I have not been attacked by any virus. I am HALE and Hearty!

I really like this, but never give up even after the viruses bite away.
Gut wrenching I would say!
oh man...ur not well now? Drink lots of water, OJ and or isotonic drinks...coz the last thing virus's want is a health cell. :)
Infectiously good!
Startling imagery.

parasites yuck.. just the name makes me shiver... very nicely done.
Ah, but if we don't invest more in our space program we shall not be able to get to another victim
Another victim? Like you say, I suppose that's what they do.. Uggh!
I should be grossed out, but I'm so glad you're back online that I'm loving this. Besides, you describe it well and it's NOT gross.
Great writing even in your fevered and harried state.
Glad you're back as well.
((((((hugs)))))
I like your take on the "cowbird" prompt. I never thought of viruses. Excellently done!
Cool! I'll be visiting regularly now that I know you're here, too.

Interesting, gautami. I dislike being a host to a virus. I know it's their job, but it's my job to flush them out of my body! A great interpretation of cowbirds!
oh, viruses yuck, but keeping strong through it is success. I really like this.
so many levels and layers to a phenomenon that at first glance seems unique
yes that's a good description of a virus!
this parasite sounds scary
the last line made me smile...
