Poetry for me is a way of living, it comes out of nowhere and I have to write it down. How I write, what I write, I decide. I am not asking you to be judgemental. I am gifted with the ability to see beyond the obvious.

glaring nightmare
all those walks with you ahead of you,
behind you has done nothing for me
calls for friendship has holes
as wide as craters
as deep as viper's pit
but what do I know anyway
I haven't seen either
walk, walk, thats all you do
expect me to follow you through
my boots refuse to go another step
let's be friends, sickens me
on the sidewalks I spill my guts out
people stare and you glare
all of it is a nightmare
yet I say it with as much aplomb as dare
you might as well hang on the poles

No committment...he's walking without getting anywhere.
Many of us seem to keep on walking to nowhere.
beautiful dear..many of us do follow someone who is goin nowwhere:)...
loved this poem:)..
A poem that really FEELS.
Beautiful!
"walk...walk...thats all you do..
expect me to follow you through"...a sense of deja vu fills me. Nicely written Gautami.
one step and the next will get you to where you're going...one of my favourite sentence in a book called 'Swan Song'...applies here somewhat ;)
One feels the deep frustration because of someone's unwillingness to make a commitment. Excellent portrayal of walking and going nowhere fast - for both. Well done Guatami.
Such a beautiful piece, I love these lines,
'calls for friendship has holes
as wide as craters
as deep as viper's pit'
Tami my friend excellent as always. I would say to you dump him!!!
Love is hard to find and harder to find true love. Well done my friend.

Yes, this struck me. Friendship does have holes and sometimes we tumble into them. Sad. True friends are hard to come by.
'let's be friends, sickens me
on the sidewalks I spill my guts out
people stare and you glare'
This is so raw.
A raw spilling of emotional protest! Quite disturbing! A dramam in poetry!
You write beautifully! "My boots refuse to go another step" I can picture that in so many ways-love it!
Well written. I can relate.
Protest just walks and runs through this one. Brilliant as usual

Wow gautami, another superb one from you....
Reminds me of some things in the past.
Your writings are so completely raw and honest. I appreciate them.
My favorite lines:
