tiny shaking shakes me out
the capsules on the floor tell me a tale
she who is ramrod straight
despairs in the midst
I sit with her on the floor
embrace her to me
she gives in
but only for a while
her voices soothes me
her arms hold me
she is again the strong mother
I am again the daughter
"forever, let it be forever,
although that isn't enough either"

let it be more than forever. forever ever after :)
Yes, it is never enough.
Great to see a picture of you and your mother and your poem stood well
Wonderfully expressed.
And a wish of every child too...
It's so hard to watch them change from the strong mom ,to us feeling like that's our role. It happened with my mom and it was sad. I miss my mom today, she passed away almost two years ago.
no forever is not enough...moving trib to moms....
oh this was moving - holding her while on the floor and feeling again how it was in all the change - beautiful and also a lovely pic of you and your mom

How remiss our Mother's arms!
I've been in this place your poem speaks of. It rings true.
Let's hope it is forever!
its sad when we become the parents
Beautifully expressed. Loved it.
This beautiful poem really touched me.
Forever is never enough, I agree.
I understand the idea of mother and daughter changing roles. My Mom and do this a lot. Especially since the death of my father. Who ever is the stronger is the Mom today.
A gorgeous expression of tender moments and the sometimes necessary swapping of those roles.
Tender and beautifully expressive.
prayers.
let it be lasting for good.
lovely piece.
After reading this, I can't help but think that it is forever. And that love is reciprocal. And that love can be hard.
Very touching indeed.
Thanks for sharing.
Those of us lucky enough to be mothers of daughters know we are part of an endless unfolding of love, caring and re-birth.
Yes. The love of family. Beautiful.
