my arm creeps around your neck
I rest my head on your shoulder
and savour the tang on your skin
you look up from your work
turning my face towards you,
you gaze deep into my soul
rustling papers fall on the floor
the winds help us close the door
dreamy fantasies come alive
in that trice, the sky melts
away from the shaky earth,
the moonlight pins us down
when I find my moorings
and try to come out of the haze
you are watching me fumble
"sleep and dream on, you say, dreams are sweet"
"Dream on, for dreams are sweet:"
are the opening lines of the poem Dreams by Paul Laurence Dunbar
Do hop on aboard the Monday Poetry Train. Great place to hangout each Monday. What's stopping you?

Very ... well ... physical. It affects directly. Prose or poem? Who wants to decide. Good anyway.
Best wishes

this is lovely in its everyday intimacy and depth.
Beautiful!
Hello Gautami~ this is so personal, intimate and beautiful. I feel every emotion with your words. I think this is another of my favorites. Have a great night.
very nice, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I like the sensual, the unspoken story...you do it well
Tender moments like this make it all worthwhile.
An intimate moment there.
The intimacy is palpable!
Fabulous!
These are wonderful:
'the winds help us close the door
dreamy fantasies come alive'
and
'when I find my moorings
and try to come out of the haze
you are watching me fumble'
Very sensual
I like "the moonlight pins us down"
very nice, I like this. Thank you for the comment on my Wordpress blog, obviously I have two but Wordpress has served me better. I am unsure of this Poetrytrain. You and one other person are the only ppl who have left me comments or even looked at my blog since I have "jumped" on that train the last two weeks. I seem to do a better job of promoting myself. lol. Still I truly appreciate you taking a look and I will bookmark you and keep a follow on your poetry.
Peace.

That is a fantastic "break" from work. Fantasy or reality... Who cares?
All of the above..........
This is so immediate! Beautiful example of showing instead of telling! Wow, I was right there!
a dreamy quality..
I too love that line "the moonlight pins us down" - lovely mood in this piece.
Wow!!!This is romantic.
dreams make things possible. wonderful.
Lovely lines in this poem, very sexy:
the winds help us close the door,
the marvelous fourth stanza, and the nimble but foggy and dreamy/dreaming last line.
a real joy to read. my favorite,
"in that trice, the sky melts
away from the shaky earth,
the moonlight pins us down"
So many vivid and splendid lines in this. I loved the vulnerability in the last line.
and try to come out of the haze
you are watching me fumble
