pardon my disinterest
to converse. toothache
is no joke. sanitary ware
was a bloody mess after I
brushed with medicated
paste. in my mouth
rolled tongue feels akin to
fuselage of an aircraft.
this year, winter solstice
is overshadowed by pain.

Oh, that is so easy to relate to! Love your use of fuselage.
Ouch! That sounds bad. Hope the aches ease soon.
Michele sent me. :)
This is a good take on the Fiction Friday Prompt. Nicely done as usual, Gautami.
Hey Brian, I don't have a toothache now but I did have one last week!
Not sure it's an image I wanted to see on a Friday but very well described.
Hooray for Blogger for bringing back the URL option!
I haven't visited everyone's yet, but I bet most focus on the reluctance of the character to attend the celebration at all. I like your approach, that the character wants to be there but external circumstances make it an unhappy experience.
I'm trying to figure out how a rolled tongue feels like an airplane fuselage. :-)
Love the way you fused the Solstice with Friday 5. Hope your aches are soothed soon. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work. Have a nice day.
Nice one. The fuselage of an aircraft is an interesting metaphor!
I agree, no joking with tootache...
No winter solstice -
thinking about a bad tooth
made me forget all

but this was an enjoyable read nonetheless
